Buying Aftermarket Auto Parts Online

In last couple of years the popularity of aftermarket auto parts has grown at phenomenal rate. Basically considered as an alternate automotive parts which are not made by auto manufacturers these aftermarket auto equipments compete with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. They are usually purchased and added to the car or truck only at the dealership or after the car or truck left the dealership. In terms of design and function, aftermarket auto parts are very similar to the stock automotive parts and primarily used to substitute a spoiled original auto part.

These days many auto owners or users are preferring aftermarket products because they are comparatively less expensive than OEM replacements. Though at times some aftermarket auto parts do not meet the high standards of original equipments, but it is also wrong to state that aftermarket products are usually second-rate in terms of style. Aftermarket auto parts are one of the few great ways to customize the appearance and feel of any car or truck. Depending on how much you want to do and your budget, you can even improve the performance of your vehicle with aftermarket automotive parts.

Work Less and Travel More

For any number of reasons people, and perhaps yourself, believe international travel is expensive. This is a common misconception. Never forget, travel can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it. The cheaper you make it the longer you can stay away. Cheap doesn’t have to mean nasty and constantly skimping on things, another misconception.

Pause for a moment and conjure up images in your mind of where in the world would you rather be right now. Then think to yourself what is stopping you from going there. At this point most people will say money, money is stopping me, not having enough, bills to pay, etc. What is really stopping you is you. Your decisions or your excuses.

Excuses are the primary reason none of us achieve what we are capable of.

Sure you can’t just up and go right now because of money, bills and commitments you may have but if you start planning now, re adjusting your priorities, habits, spending now and make a commitment to yourself, your dreams can and will become reality. Just set a date say twelve months from now and draw up a simple plan that will guide you financially and that will help you to remain focused upon your goal. Planning and sticking to the plan is the key. So many people don’t do this, then they wonder why or make excuses as why they failed. Without sticking to a plan you will lose your way, your focus will slip as will your savings and your dream to travel will remain exactly that.

The following is a quick outline of some travel tips on how you may structure your plan.

Take control of your spending – Sounds obvious enough, but how? Work out exactly how much you spend on everything, rent, bills, food, insurances etc. Hopefully it is less than you earn for the remainder you must put aside for your trip.

Now that you know where all your money is going (sometimes this can be a shock) it’s time to see where you can make some spending adjustments that won’t impact too much on your life style. In other words stop buying crap you don’t really need to get by like new cloths, DVDs, computer games, TV’s or whatever. Remember the more you save now, the more you will have for travelling which means you can stay away longer or live it up more when on the road.

You must make your upcoming travels your priority. Until you do, you won’t save enough, you won’t make the necessary adjustments to your spending, and you won’t make it to the airport. Make it a priority, because like I said your travels will open your eyes and change your life.

Set a date and stick to it – Again obvious enough but many people make their goals a moving target then wonder why they don’t reach them. Fix a date that will be appropriate to your financial situation and then stick to it. Write it down and stick it on your fridge or something. This way you see it every day and in turn helps to keep you motivated and focused.

Don’t leave it to the last minute to book your flight. The longer you leave it the more expensive it will get. If you can, book at least six to eight months out from your set date of departure.

Make a list of things you must do before departure – By this I mean financial cut backs you can make, bills that will need to be paid up and maybe even closed depending on how long you intend to travel. Mail redirects, notify bank of your travel plans, copy your travel documents etc (these things are covered later)

Make a list of things to buy/pack – Obvious this one I know though a good packing list will prevent you from loading yourself up with stuff you don’t need or maybe only use once. The lighter you travel the easier it will be. Revise this packing list so as you can cut back to the bare essentials. Think of the part of the world you are visiting and then pack accordingly. Common sense should tell you what to pack and what not to.

Begin planning your trip – Write out a list of places/countries you must see, must do experiences and how much time roughly to spend at each. A short term traveller will likely plan out the entire trip to the day and pre book. A long term backpacker will not need to be so exact with their travel plans as time is not such an issue and their travels will generally evolve as they go.

Stay focused – Read up about your destination. Not only does this give you some vital information it will also help keep you focused and excited about your upcoming adventure and do not leave buying all your travel gear till the last minute. Not only could you forget something, though you should not if you made a list, actually seeing your new travel gear building up gets you pumped up for hitting the road, which in turn helps keep you focused and on target.

The hardest part is often making the decision to jet off on a long overseas adventure, the second hardest part is keeping your resolve, sticking to the plan, being strict on yourself with your spending, doing the extra overtime (if available) for the extra holiday money and possibly as it was for me, throwing in a well paid job that I actually did not mind doing. But guess what… it was worth it. That seven months of travel changed my life and to top it off within a week of my return home to Australia I got my old job back and so I started saving all over again.

Most decisions have their risks attached to them. They seem daunting to begin with and they feed your doubts, though never let the concerns of money stop you from either going or worry about not having much, if any cash left after when you get back for it is your travels that lay before you, here and now that matter and who knows what opportunities await you both on your travels and beyond all thanks to taking a risk and embarking on an awesome holiday.

Remember, the biggest risk in life is not taking a risk.

The following would have to be one of my favourite travel related quotes:

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – Confucius

Why Business and Law Go Hand in Hand

If you are getting ready to start a new business, or if you have already done so, it is important that you understand the areas where business and law intersect and rely on one another. There are a wide variety of potential legal situations that business owners might find themselves in when starting a business or growing an existing one. Because the average person might not be aware of the minute details of business law, they could end up facing severe financial consequences.

The best way to properly protect yourself from legal liability is by hiring or consulting with a business lawyer. However it is also important that you learn about the general concepts of business and law, so you will be able to know when you need legal protection. If you want to adequately protect yourself and your new business, here are some things you should understand about business and law, and why the two should go hand-in-hand.

Starting a Business

Starting, running or growing a business can be a very exciting venture. Unfortunately many people are so eager to get up and running that they often overlook very important legal aspects of starting their business. And because of the nature of a new business, even if legal issues are known, the business owners might not have enough financial resources to obtain legal assistance.

No business is exempt from the potential of being faced with some common legal problems, including discrimination or harassment claims, dissatisfied customers, patent or copyright issues, disgruntled employees, and many other legal issues. If large and small companies alike do not have the help of experienced business lawyers on their side, they could end up mishandling certain situations and facing disastrous consequences. Even seemingly minor legal issues could quickly spiral out of control if they are not handled properly by someone who is familiar with the ins and outs of corporate law.

Even the most optimistic business owners can find their lives turned upside-down by a single harassment claim by a disgruntled employee or a claim of errors and omissions by a customer. In some situations, business owners may unwittingly admit to something they are not guilty of just to calm down an angry customer or employee.

These risks should not dissuade people from starting businesses, but should instead serve as examples of what could occur if the proper precautions are not taken.

Legal Considerations

When you start a business and are offering goods or services to a particular market, there is always the possibility that a transaction could go wrong, that a customer or employee could feel they have been wronged, or that a contractual agreement may fall apart. In these situations, it is crucial that you and your assets are protected. An important step in running a business is choosing the proper legal entity that it should be. Different entities have different levels of protection, shielding individuals from liability, offering different tax benefits and establishing roles between partners. Another step in protecting yourself is obtaining and implementing the proper type of insurance, that might be relied on if a particular dispute arises.

Other legal considerations of running a business involve the use of clear contracts between you and those you do business with. One of the biggest causes of business disputes is where two parties are involved in a business arrangement, end up disagreeing what that arrangement is, and either have an inadequate contract, or no contract at all that describes each of their obligations. Individuals and businesses can lose large amounts of money simply because they failed to properly define their legal obligations and put a contract in place.

Business Attorneys

At any time during their operation, both small companies and large corporate entities can be faced with unexpected legal issues that they are simply not prepared for. One of the best ways to prevent such dangers, and to protect yourself if a dispute arises, is to hire or consult with a specialized business lawyer.

A lawyer who is experience in the areas of business law will be able to help you avoid potential liability in the future, and can help defend or enforce your business against others if a dispute arises. If you want to make sure that your company is able to reach its full potential without being sidetracked by legal problems, you can significantly increase your chances of success by hiring an experienced lawyer.

As long as businesses continue to exist, there will always be the need for competent legal protection. Make the smart move for the future of your business by hiring a qualified lawyer to make sure your company is always represented and prepared for unexpected legal situations.

Business and Law

The areas of business and law are intrinsically connected and will always go hand in hand. Our legal system has many regulations and laws in place to govern those operating a business, and it is important to have at least a basic understanding of the legal implications of starting a business. With a little research, basic knowledge, and ideally help from specialized business litigation lawyers, you can continue to grow your business while implementing best practice strategies, and protecting yourself, employees and customers at the same time.

Train Travel

Train travel is an ideal means of transport in the UK and the rest of Europe. Rail travel is fast, practical and convenient in both urban and more rural areas. Railway stations often allow for car hire services if you need access to a car or perhaps need to venture to an area not accessible by train.

Rail travel is often convenient even if you have flown partway to your destination. Train travel works well for personal or corporate travel, and can be an economical way to transport staff to a conference, event venue, or meetings. It can also be a luxurious and comfortable way to transport clients quickly and efficiently. Train travel is a viable option for conferences, annual meetings and other events throughout Europe. You may be pleasantly surprised to learn that you can easily opt for rail travel to or from the UK and mainland Europe.

Booking rail travel is easy thanks to online interfaces that offer planning, scheduling and trip organisation services. Both personal and corporate travel arrangements can be made easily and practically online. Whether you need to simply book a rail ticket or opt for a full package, both can be done with little effort. Corporate travel to events including annual meetings, conferences, and other events can be planned quickly and easily. Many online trip organisers even allow you to book airline tickets, car hires, rail travel and accommodations in one step. A well planned trip can be especially important for group travel, or for corporate travel arrangements. Discount on rail fares are even available for groups of more than ten.

Eurostar services offer fast check in and a short trip between London and Paris or Brussels. Eurostar allows you to travel in high speed comfort, with champagne, drinks, and food available at your seat in Leisure Select and Business Premier Classes. Business Premier may be an ideal choice for corporate hospitality or business travel to general meetings, conferences and PR events. Business Premier offers even faster check in services as well as additional business amenities. Standard class offers affordable and practical travel between London and France. Eurotunnel can also offer those travelling by car a helpful and cost effective rail option as you simply drive your car onto the shuttle and make a short 35 minute trip via shuttle to Calais, France.

Train travel is ideal in many ways as a corporate travel option, or even for corporate hospitality events. Comfortable rail travel is convenient and practical, and some train travel routes even offer wireless internet access and charging capabilities for laptop computers. If you are transporting important clients for PR events, product launches or exhibitions, rail travel can be an excellent choice. Train travel is an ideal choice for corporate hospitality, allowing your clientele to use their travel time for business needs or work.

While train travel works well for shorter trips, it is also ideal for longer trips. Sleeper cars are available on some train routes, allowing for a comfortable night’s sleep. While train fares can be quite economical, first class seating in the UK and Europe will allow travellers an enjoyable and relaxing ride to their destination. Long distance train services are most apt to offer first class services. These may include more comfortable seating, tables, upgraded décor, meal services and more. Business travellers will also appreciate access to first class lounges in many train stations with wi-fi, power outlets for charging mobile phones, laptops and other electronics, comfortable spaces for meetings, and more.

Rail travel can be more convenient than air travel today, particularly in terms of check in times, and some travellers may simply prefer train travel. Passengers are allowed three pieces of luggage on trains in the UK, two larger items and a smaller piece of hand luggage. Excess luggage may be carried for an extra cost, as can some larger items. Check in via many rail travel companies is quite quick, with Eurostar and others estimating a less than 30 minute check in time. Business travellers in particular may find this speed and efficiency helpful.

If you are planning a corporate event, a product launch, PR events, an annual general meeting or perhaps a corporate conference, offering train travel as an option can be ideal. Train travel is both affordable and comfortable, and can offer the kind of luxury business travellers often prefer. Ample conveniences and accommodations for business travellers will appeal to your clientele. Online booking technology can allow you to schedule your event, book accommodations, rail travel, car hires, and air travel in one easy step. Consider consulting a corporate hospitality specialist to assist you in this sort of planning and make your event a true success. Your clients, employees and others will find train travel an ideal way to begin and end any event.

Accessories For Auto Racing Safety

Auto racing is one of the highly televised sports in the world. The exposure of people to auto racing has acted as a catalyst for its growth in popularity. More and more people, especially kids and teenagers, have been drawn towards racing. Carting, most basic and arguably the safest introduction to motor sports, is very popular not only in Europe and North America, the traditional bastions of auto racing, but also in Asia and some parts of Africa. But, its popularity and fanfare should not undermine the fears about its safety. We know from our daily experience that even driving through roads at a speed that is infinitely slower than that in the auto racing arenas can be dangerous.

Despite the technologically advanced safety measures, the inherent danger of high-speed auto racing refuses to be conquered. There are a large number of accessories for auto racing safety. But, there is no better method to avoid accidents than driving with concentration and focus.

Formula One racing is undoubtedly the most famous auto racing event in the planet. Ayrton Senna is the immortal star in the Formula One history. He died on the track in 1994 following an accident while racing. That incident prompted the governing bodies of the sport to bring in new technologies to avoid accidents and to reduce the risks when accidents inevitably happen. The vehicles, be it racing cars or motor cycles, are designed in such a way as to keep the driver away from impact even if a crash happens. The vehicles absorb maximum impact on its body. But there is a limit to such measures. If the crash is too powerful, the body cannot resist the force. As a result, other accessories for auto racing safety have been introduced.

Auto racers wear special kind of dress that will provide both comfort and safety during the high-pressure environment of motor racing. Usually it will be tightly fit dresses, with some kind of padding at the leg and chest parts. The biggest problem for the auto racers is the extreme heat generated due to high speeds of vehicles. Exposure to the heat can cause dehydration. So the dressing accessories for auto racing safety should be able to prevent heat from entering the body of the driver.

The most useful accessory for auto racing safety is helmets. There are a number of brands of special lightweight, yet strong, helmets particularly manufactured for auto racing. The helmet provides a kind of insurance cover against head injuries.

In spite of all these accessories for auto racing safety, the actual safety is in driving within the limits of both the racing rule and ones own ability. Auto racing is perhaps one sporting event where winning at any cost is not recommended. It is a sport where the clich a matter of life and death is a stark reality.

Travel Agents Are Still In Demand

Although their are numerous online travel services a traditional Travel agent is as much an important part of the trip as comfort is to traveling! The role of a travel agent has been increasing with the times and today most people are dependent on them for executing most of their travel plans so that they can rest easy and just enjoy their trip.

It is the responsibility of the travel agent to help and guide the travelers about the constantly changing schedules and airfares, availability of packages for vacation, and a lot of travel information that the traveler may not know about.

Choosing a reliable travel agent can be an important decision, since how you travel and your comfort will be largely decided by the travel agents. You should verify the information given by the travel agents, to be on the safer side and minimize your travel hassles. Incase of International travel, choosing a proper agent becomes more important.

The right agent should be able to foresee your problems and guide you about them. They should provide information related to customs regulations, important documents like visas, passports, currency exchange rates and certificates of vaccination.

Many hotels, cruise liners, resorts, and special travel groups make use of travel agents to market their travel packages to the ever increasing rate of people choosing to travel both inland and overseas. Most agents advice you on destinations and make arrangements for hotel stays, transportation, tours, car rentals, etc.

Information on weather conditions, restaurants, tourist attractions, and other such necessary information are also provided. A good travel agent could also take the trouble of checking out hotel services to gauge their quality of service in order that they can base references on a first hand report.

With the changing times, the travel industry has seen a big development in terms of Internet bookings and travel related information made available on the net. The number of people using online services is growing. This has resulted in a change in the view of the convenience of traditional agencies.

A poll result of American tourists revealed that over 92 percent of them generally buy their travel related necessities online. According to these consumers, online travel agencies have cheaper rates, are the easiest to use and offer all the relevant information. A word of caution is necessary for those using the Internet for their travel bookings. Be sure to navigate the site, verify that the agent has a good back-up system.

Also ensure that there are no added costs that are credited to your credit bills.

Till a few years ago, travel agents provided free services to their customers. Travel agents worked as agents for airlines, hotels, rental car companies, etc. The agencies worked on a commission basis from these suppliers.

But free travel agent services began changing as a result of certain changes in the rate of commissions. For example, in 1995 Delta Airlines imposed a $50 limit on domestic airline commission rates.

The Need for Innovation in Fashion

My first big purchase shortly upon moving into a beautiful apartment in Brookline and starting my first post-bachelors full time job was a set of antique bedroom furniture. The 1930’s flowing lines, the intricately carved flowers, the walnut inlays, cedar lined draws and the Bakelite draw pulls were enough for me to overlook the major drawback of the set – the dresser/armoire had only about a foot of space for hanging clothing.

This was in 2006, the high reign of fast fashion, and my closet was overstuffed with clothing from Zara, H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Filene’s Basement and TJ Maxx. The multi-fiber agreement expired a year prior, online clothing sales were gaining speed and increasingly competing with b&m, and the ever-multiplying number of stores was flooded with a dizzying variety of inexpensive, trendy clothing. It seemed like the golden age of fashion: even with a modest entry-level salary I still hardly wore a party dress more than once per season, and the plethora of my perfectly coordinated outfits could have launched a lifestyle blog. The 1930’s, with the hand-produced wardrobe enough to fit into a foot of hanging space seemed very far away indeed.

Yet as could be expected in retrospect, the bubble burst. I’m not fully sure yet if it was the exposure to the socially aware and innovative spirit of Cambridge, the financial crisis of 2008 and the recession that followed, or the greater awareness of the world that grew from my addiction to the iPhone and all the news/blogs apps. The endless choices of soft printed shirts, ruffled blouses, skinny jeans, fitted dresses and a shoe collection to fit every passing fancy, were all beginning to feel stifling – more so with each and every news article about the sweatshop labor and the environmental impact of throw away fashions.

The basic way that clothing is made has not changed much since the introduction of the sewing machine. Apparel manufacturing has remained a low technology, labor-intensive process. The decreasing tariffs of the 1990’s encouraged the shift of the most labor-intensive part of clothing production to industrializing countries with abundant low-cost labor and typically fewer safety regulations and government oversight. Incidentally, this also brought apparel production geographically closer to raw material manufactures, such as Uzbekistan’s cotton and China’s leather. Shifting production from the developed to industrialized countries continued to bring the cost of garments down, while at the same time discouraging technological innovation on the production side.

The Fashion innovations of the 2000’s mainly came in a form of using technology to optimize company operations. Following Zara’s breakthroughs in responding to customers and bringing new concepts to the stores in as little as 3 weeks, fashion companies focused on quick turn around, increasing variety and lowering production costs. The growth of the fast-fashion retailers, in combination with further lowered import barriers, gave these companies the leverage to push for faster turn around and lower prices from the apparel manufacturers in, among other countries, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Tunisia.

The disaster in Bangladesh stresses the need for change in the Fashion Industry. Clothing production should never be a deadly business. Fashion, and fashion production, simply can not stay the way that it is now. While people are becoming increasingly aware of the real costs of disposable fashions, and in response are changing the ways they approach and consume fashion, the demand for clothing will continue to grow with the growing populations and improving living standards. This need for growth challenges us to envision a better fashion future.

What will be the fashion innovations of the next decade? These innovations can not simply be in design – with the globalization of the fashion industry and a fashion week happening every single week somewhere in the world, the true innovations with an impact to change the industry are unlikely to come from new designs using the existing materials. Simply stated, everything has been tried, and there hasn’t been anything new in fashion design in ages.

Will the fashion innovation then come from using new materials? Recently I’ve come across a video featuring Bradley Quinn discussing the Fashion Future, and the material innovations currently in development. Self-cleaning clothing, clothing with embedded technology, garments that protect and make us stronger seem just around the corner. Yet how will these be produced? Perhaps they will be self-assembled, or painted-on, as some have suggested. However exciting, these ideas still seem far away from implementation.

Even if the fabrics of tomorrow are ready to be introduced in the next season, material innovations alone will not address the all of the problems currently faced by the Fashion industry. While it is easy to envision new fabrics and material technologies as supplementing the choices we have now, they are unlikely to replace them. You might wear a self-cleaning high-tech communication suit during the day, but your most comfy pj’s are still going to be flannel.

3D printing, as a concept, gives us the promise of customization. This certainly could be the answer to the desire for trendy, new pieces that capture a certain mood or tone of the moment – the very soul of fashion. Recycling 3D printed items, something that is currently being explored by some innovators, could help to address the environmental impact of quickly-changing trends. One could easily envision a future where fashion is produced using 3D printers, while ‘consumer items’ such as socks, pj’s, t-shirts and other basics are ethically and responsibly produced in industrializing or even back in industrialized countries.

Yet until every single household has a 3D printer, the challenge with 3D printing, besides the current lack of clothing appropriate materials, lies in the question of mass-production. Could 3D Printing technology evolve to allow for mass-customization? Will this mass-customization happen in mini-factories, or directly in the home? Or will another technology arise to solve the problem of fashion production? Its an interesting future we are in for, and I can’t wait to find out.

Technology Acceptance Model

Advances in computing and information technology are changing the way people meet and communicate. People can meet, talk, and work together outside traditional meeting and office spaces. For instance, with the introduction of software designed to help people schedule meetings and facilitate decision or learning processes, is weakening geographical constraints and changing interpersonal communication dynamics. Information technology is also dramatically affecting the way people teach and learn.

As new information technologies infiltrate workplaces, home, and classrooms, research on user acceptance of new technologies has started to receive much attention from professionals as well as academic researchers. Developers and software industries are beginning to realize that lack of user acceptance of technology can lead to loss of money and resources.
In studying user acceptance and use of technology, the TAM is one of the most cited models. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was developed by Davis to explain computer-usage behavior. The theoretical basis of the model was Fishbein and Ajzen’s Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA).

The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is an information systems (System consisting of the network of all communication channels used within an organization) theory that models how users come to accept and use a technology, The model suggests that when users are presented with a new software package, a number of factors influence their decision about how and when they will use it, notably:

Perceived usefulness (PU) – This was defined by Fred Davis as “the degree to which a person believes that using a particular system would enhance his or her job performance”.

Perceived ease-of-use (PEOU) Davis defined this as “the degree to which a person believes that using a particular system would be free from effort” (Davis, 1989).

The goal of TAM is “to provide an explanation of the determinants of computer acceptance that is general, capable of explaining user behavior across a broad range of end-user computing technologies and user populations, while at the same time being both parsimonious and theoretically justified”.

According to the TAM, if a user perceives a specific technology as useful, she/he will believe in a positive use-performance relationship. Since effort is a finite resource, a user is likely to accept an application when she/he perceives it as easier to use than another .As a consequence, educational technology with a high level of PU and PEOU is more likely to induce positive perceptions. The relation between PU and PEOU is that PU mediates the effect of PEOU on attitude and intended use. In other words, while PU has direct impacts on attitude and use, PEOU influences attitude and use indirectly through PU.

User acceptance is defined as “the demonstrable willingness within a user group to employ information technology for the tasks it is designed to support” (Dillon & Morris). Although this definition focuses on planned and intended uses of technology, studies report that individual perceptions of information technologies are likely to be influenced by the objective characteristics of technology, as well as interaction with other users. For example, the extent to which one evaluates new technology as useful, she/he is likely to use it. At the same time, her/his perception of the system is influenced by the way people around her/him evaluate and use the system.
Studies on information technology continuously report that user attitudes are important factors affecting the success of the system. For the past several decades, many definitions of attitude have been proposed. However, all theories consider attitude to be a relationship between a person and an object (Woelfel, 1995).

In the context of information technologies, is an approach to the study of attitude – the technology acceptance model (TAM). TAM suggests users formulate a positive attitude toward the technology when they perceive the technology to be useful and easy to use (Davis, 1989).

A review of scholarly research on IS acceptance and usage suggests that TAM has emerged as one of the most influential models in this stream of research The TAM represents an important theoretical contribution toward understanding IS usage and IS acceptance behaviors. However, this model — with its original emphasis on the design of system characteristics – does not account for social influence in the adoption and utilization of new information systems.
